One of my fave tracks at the moment, and one which will be fighting it out for the November 2003 dance chart, got a UK release on Monday. Love Me Right by Angel City Featuring Lara McAllen is based upon Ready For The World’s hit single ‘Oh Sheila’ which topped the U.S. pop charts in 1985.
In the same way that this time last year we had Divine Inspiration’s Let Me Show You The Way” (Put Your Hand In My Hand – Let Me Show You The Way!)(Choon!)- this one has apparently been doing really well in the UK clubs. It has a housey-feel, which at times reminds me of a Robin S or Love Inc track.
Although a version was made in 1998, it’s now been redone by Angel City – and the vocals are provided by the gorgeous Lara McAllen. You can check out Lara’s personal website here.
Be sure to also check out cowriterbruce.com for more information about Angel City. Bruce Elliott-Smith provided the production skills to this track, and as you’ll see from his website, he’s also responsible for a suite of other dance hits, working with artists like ATB, Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buren.
Are you thinking Lara looks or sounds familar? Then you’re right! She provided the vocals on this summer’s dance hit ‘>Now I’m Free’ by Stuart, and also provides vocals on “Losing My Mind” by trance star Armin Van Buuren.
